Every April, over 20,000 visitors gather here to pay tribute to the most successful international short films on six festival days. Once the project started as a place where banned films from the GDR were shown. After reunification the focus shifted to short films. To ensure variety and diversity, a different focus is chosen each year, usually comprising up to 230 films. The Filmfest also emphasizes interaction: That’s why the section “etc. – events.trainings.connections” still offers a suitable series of discussions, exhibitions and workshops for the visitors.
